My name is Shayra Gonzales and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate. I am a passionate therapist with a trauma-informed approach who believes in individualizing treatment to your specific needs is key during the healing process. You deserve to be encouraged, supported, and guided towards better self-discovery in a safe therapeutic environment to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

My goal is to meet you with empathy, respect, and an open mind. I will strive to instill hope by empowering clients to discover and build on their own strengths. Some changes can be more difficult than others, and I believe therapy can help individuals navigate through difficulties and other stressors. Come with me to the journey of introspection and we will find healing in the end.

I have six years of experience working with children and adults providing individual and family counseling, including extensive experience providing trauma-informed care with immigrant families, and youth involved with the foster care and juvenile justice systems. I specialize in life challenges such as depression, anxiety, transitions, grief, relationships, or immigration can be difficult at all ages of life.

My formal training includes a Master's in Psychological Counseling from Interamerican  University of Puerto Rico. My bachelor degree is in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology.

Fun things that I like to do are: Travel and explore relax, go to parks and spend time with family and friends.
