ABOUT CHIKA

                       

My name is Carol Uchechukwu, an LMSW currently under supervision for my LCSW. I have vast experience working with individuals of different cultural backgrounds. Assisting my clients to actualize themselves, instilling in them the belief that they are not defined by their mental situations. I work collaboratively with my clients in identifying their strengths and reaching their goals. I utilize holistic and client centered approaches to ensuring that my clients not only meet their goals but thrive afterwards. I am very patient, understanding and empathetic towards my clients.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I have vast experience working with clients with different mental illnesses such as Depression and Bipolar disorder, Anxiety disorder, Anger and stress management, self harm/ suicidal ideation and attempts, Trauma and chronic mental illnesses. Age groups of 30s to 96 with my therapeutic practices.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Louisiana State University at Alexander, my Master’s degree in Social Work from Stephen F Austin State University.  specialization in Generalists Social Work. I am currently under supervision for my LCSW.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Life brings about varieties of colorful experiences However, it depends on how each person views those moments. Personal, i believe everything happens for a reason and when those experiences comes our way, we stop and ponder, try to view in positive way and keep moving. Situations does shouldn't define us, we define how those situations shape our lives. I enjoy praying, helping others, cooking, spending quality time with loved ones as well as having my quiet time.  I Love life.
